Cancer Schmancer celebrates its one year anniversary!

June 21, 2008 (Los Angeles, CA) - International celebrity, New York Times best-selling author and cancer survivor, Fran Drescher, is celebrating the first birthday of her charitable organizations, the Cancer Schmancer Foundation and the Cancer Schmancer Movement, on June 21st, which also marks her eighth anniversary of wellness from uterine cancer. The anniversary celebration takes place Saturday, June 21, 2008 at SIMON LA Restaurant at Hotel Sofitel LA.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do to ensure that all women are diagnosed with cancer in Stage 1, when it is most curable. This Saturday, June 21, 2008, the Cancer Schmancer Movement will celebrate its one year anniversary as I celebrate my eighth anniversary of wellness from uterine cancer. And it's all happening on the summer solstice, poetically, the longest day of sunlight. Woohoo!

New York, NY - South Gate partnered with CESLIE – The Women’s Network and Proskauer Rose to host an event honoring Fran Drescher with the Momentum Women for her pioneering work as the President and Visionary of the Cancer Schmancer Movement and Cancer Schmancer Foundation. Julie Allen, Roberta Ashkin, Karine Bakhoum, Elise Bloom, Nina Kaminer, Lori Levine, and Ceslie Armstrong will host the cocktail soiree and networking event with members of Momentum Women, a distinguished group of business leaders, at South Gate on Thursday, May 15, 2008.

Cancer Schmancer introduces new women's cancer healthcare legislation in California

On Monday, January 14, 2008, California State Assemblywoman Sally Lieber officially recognized Cancer Schmancer's commitment to revolutionizing women's cancer healthcare and Fran Drescher as a patient healthcare advocate at a ceremony held at the State Capitol in Sacramento. Fran was presented with a resolution on the floor of the Assembly chamber.

Sign the petition to ensure full funding in 2008 for Johanna's Law!
Just this year, more than 75,000 women were diagnosed with uterine, ovarian, or cervical cancer. On November 15, 2007, Congress failed to overturn President Bush's veto of the combined 2008 Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill. As of right now, the appropriation of $6.75 million towards the Gynecologic Cancer Education and Awareness Act is dead, as many women will be if Congress doesn't ensure funding for this bill in 2008.
