SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Hundreds of smart women got together Wednesday for the 14th Annual Smart Women Luncheon and Expo at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.
They all came to see another smart woman: Actress, Author, and Health Advocate Fran Drescher.
When you first think of Fran Drescher, you probably think of her distinct voice. Now, she's using that voice to tell other women about her health journey, and what she has learned.
She is a 15-year uterine cancer survivor, but had to go to numerous doctors during a two-year period to get that diagnosis. She says it's time for women to make some changes so they don't have to go through what she did.
"Take control of their body, detox their home, and recognize the early warning whispers.”
She says not all cancer signs are loud and clear. Some are just soft whispers, and it’s important to pay attention to those whispers because early detection is key.
"Catch it on arrival, 95-percent survival," said Drescher.
Her message has now transformed into a world-wide movement.
